1. Lament: To express sadness and feeling sorry about something.

2. Incite: To encourage someone to do or feel something unpleasant or violent.

3. Degenerate: To become worse in quality.
Educational standards are degenerating year by year because of lack of funds.
4. Dissect: To cut open something, especially a dead body or a plant, and study its structure.
In biology classes at school we used to dissect rats.
5. Discrepancy: Difference between two things that should be the same.
There is some discrepancy between the two accounts.
6. Shun: To ignore someone and not speak to them because you cannot accept their behavior, beliefs, etc.
After the trial he was shunned by friends and family alike.
7. Intercept: To stop and catch something before they are able to reach a particular place.
Law enforcement agents intercepted a shipment of drugs from Latin America.
8. Profess: To state something, sometimes in a way which is not sincere.
She professes not to be interested in money.
9. Capricious: Changing mood or behavior suddenly and unexpectedly.
He was a capricious child.
10. Competence: The ability to do something well.
Her competence as a teacher is unquestionable.
11. Puerile: Behaving in a silly way, not like an adult; childish
I find his sense of humor rather puerile.
12. Coherent: If someone is coherent, you can understand what they say.
When she claimed down, she was more coherent (= able to speak clearly and be understood)
13. Colossal: Extremely large
They were asking a colossal amount of money for the house.
14. Commodious: Describes a room or house that has a lot of space.
15. Companion: A person you spend a lot of time with either because you are friends or because you are travelling together.
The dog has been her constant companion these past ten years.
