Yes it's true that only 16% people of rural area in India is sensible of Internet. Isn't it strange?
This is researched by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IMAI) that India is deficient in Internet and its facilities. But who is accountable for this scenario? The reason abaft is only "infrastructure". In rural areas, generally there is no adequate electirc supply, not having Internet Acess Point. Just because of this hinderance, Internet is not able to penetrate in rural areas of the country. 31% of rural population does not have Internet Access Point (IAP), 25% of population has no Internet connection, and 22% has no electricity. The figure brings forth the need to enhance the infrastructure setup with Government of India's schemes like CSC and SWAN (State Wide Area Network) scheme.
Speaking about the findings of the research, Dr.Subho Roy, President, IAMAI said "The high percentage of people in rural India who are not aware of Internet, underlines the need for better infrastructure and schemes such as CSC and SWAN. Such schemes will go long way in augmenting the Internet penetration in rural areas"
I hope atleast I have made you aware about the current scenario of our country. So awake and spread the awarness of technology and bring our country from developing to developed country.
